Planning Ahead

A few ticks away and we'll be entering December. Once you hit December, before you know it, it's 2008 already. As early as now, I'm already planning on what I want to do for the next year. I'm pondering all sorts of questions right now. Each answer will dictate what I'll be doing for the 2-3 years.

I used to work for a multinational company, and most planning sessions would be done, "off-site". They'd do the planning session outside of the office, where you and your office mates could bond, interact and share ideas about the issues that challenge the "Business". I am sure that most, if not all, employed people also have similar planning sessions.

As you enter Christmas, don't forget that you're still the person earning the same amount of money a month ago. Don't be fooled by marketing ads telling you about 0% interest this, interest that. It's okay to splurge once in a while, but only if it's a budgeted item. Don't splurge based on impulse.

When you're in the mall, you'll notice that everyone carries with them a plastic bag from a retail store. You see, no one goes out of a mall empty handed, just empty wallets.

For this reason, maybe setting an out of town trip for planning is a good idea. This is time away from temptation. I wish I'd do that. Go out of town and do my planning. Haha. What about you? Do you plan what you want to do for the coming year?

hi ella,

i'm glad to hear that! a posh venue would be great but anywhere conducive to thinking seriously about your future is good enough.

happy planning :)
